PACS + AV Tools
AMICAS, Boston, has announced the release of its AMICAS PACS version 6.0. The new version features the same Web-based platform and real-time worklist with enhancements to the image-viewing tool set. Halo ViewerTM incorporates advanced visualization tools and automates 3D and mammography workflow through hanging protocols aimed at increasing radiologist productivity and designed to help improve the quality of reading.
RIS/PACS Bulks Up With New Features
NovaRad, American Fork, Utah, has released NovaRIS/NovaPACS version 7.1, with new reading and scheduling efficiencies. Added PACS features include new hanging-protocol options for side-by-side review of current and prior studies; one-click process for switching between viewing protocols; study duplication, to ease manipulation and compare different windows or levels; series display settings; and new zoom capabilities. New RIS features include new and updated transcription and scheduler modules and preliminary listening to radiologist reports by referring physicians.
Cardiovascular PACS Enhances Workflow
ProSolv Cardio Vascular, Indianapolis, a FUJIFILM company, has announced its newest release, SynapseTM ProSolv® Cardio Vascular 4.0.1. Key features include integrated ECG management capability and integration with the Siemens Sensis hemodynamic system. The new release builds on the Web foundation added with the last release to provide additional third-party integrations to enhance cardiology workflow. With the new ECG Management module, powered by Epiphany Cardiography, facilities can manage and coordinate ECG and Holter-monitor data from any department, including the emergency department.
Mammography CAD Digitizer
Vidar, Herndon, Va, offers its CAD PRO® Advantage film digitizer, designed to capture the advanced pattern recognition and image analysis of computer-aided detection, which requires the digitizer to meet the highest standards of image quality and reliability. CAD PRO uses the DICOM MG standard to identify the specific view contained on each film, enabling prior studies to be displayed correctly on the workstation.
Breast MRI-guided Intervention Software Cleared
ICAD, Nashua, NH, announces FDA 510(k) clearance for PrecisionPoint™, the company’s interventional planning solution for breast MRI. PrecisionPoint can speed biopsies and will be offered as an integrated module within the company’s CADvue™ breast MRI image review software. ICAD has also made additional functional and interface improvements to the latest release of its CADVue software, including a compare function that facilitates review of multiple studies of the same patient, enhancement of maximum-intensity projection and 3D rendering capability, and the ability to export CADvue images onto a CD with a DICOM viewer.
Radiology Results Added
to Insurance-verification Software
MedCurrent, Los Angeles, a provider of physician practice management solutions, has added radiology-specific reporting results in its newest release of VerifyTM, a Web-based insurance-eligibility–verification tool. The software enables practices to connect to a database of more than 350 US-based insurance carriers to secure real-time patient-coverage information. New features include specialty templates that deliver radiology-specific eligibility information first, incorporation of all Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange fields, a new eligibility technical standard, and new user-friendly icons.
